July
A weekend away in Oxfordshire for a photography day at Millets Wildside Falconry Centre yielded some unexpected additional photographic opportunities. We spent the Saturday at Blenheim Palace and were so lucky to see Red Kites flying wild over the parkland.

August
August is the time for insects and pond life and I am fortunate to have a wonderfully wildlife rich garden providing plenty of photographic inspiration. The Common Blue butterfly image is one of may favourite of the year so far.

Bempton Cliffs
We were camped just down the coast from the main RSPB site and were able to walk in from the site. Nothing quite prepares you for the noise and the smell as you approach the Gannet colonies, but it is a fantastic place to visit.

Balloon Fiesta
August in Bristol means the International Balloon Fiesta and this year the wind was in an unusual direction which meant that the mass ascents came right towards us. Since it was just too hot for much in the way of sleep I made the best of being awake at stupid o’clock and headed out with the camera.
